Nissan Cars

The Nissan Maxima has held a special place in the automobile industry for over 30 years. Over that time, Nissan’s engineers have continually been able to harness the best aspects of both the family sedan and sports car and combine it into the Maxima’s design scheme. The Maxima has earned its moniker with the Nissan Car lineup as the “four-door sports car.”

The 2018 Nissan Maxima is by far the most cutting-edge design Nissan has ever unveiled. The latest edition of the Maxima is available in six trim levels, which include the S, SV, SL, SR, SR Midnight Edition, and Platinum. With each trim level, the Maxima is distinct, defined by the available options and features.

Speaking of features and options, the 2018 Nissan Maxima provides more standard features in comparison to similar models produced by other manufacturers, including a 300-horsepower engine, Driver Selector, which allows you to seamlessly transition from normal to sport mode, an audible alert to complement its tire-pressure monitoring system (Easy-Fill Tire Alert) and a Remote Start System.

Additionally, these features and others are housed in a cabin area that is more spacious than similar vehicles produced by competitors, as well as previous editions of the Maxima.

Let’s take a more in-depth look at the 2018 Nissan Maxima.

Family Sedan with Style

The 2018 Maxima sets an industry standard for style. Beginning with the outside of the vehicle, you can select from a variety of exterior paint colors. Nissan is especially proud of Carnelian Red. The state-of-the-art technology used to create the color results in a finish the manufacturer refers to as “liquid-metal.” If Carnelian Red is little too bold for you, Nissan also offers several more subdued colors, such as Gun Metallic and Pearl White, that still provide an exquisite finish.

To further highlight the Maxima’s exterior, Nissan has created a “floating” roof design. The roof’s blackout design complements the vehicle’s exterior paint palette quite well. Moving into the vehicle’s interior, the luxurious standard continues. To complement the “floating” roof design, the Maxima comes with a two-panel panoramic moonroof as an available option, allowing drivers to bring the sky directly into the cabin.

If that’s not enough to set the mood, ambient lighting is also a standard feature on the 2018 Maxima. With the mood set, Nissan wanted to ensure comfort while you enjoy your drive. The Maxima’s interior cabin space is available in cloth and leather. In fact, Nissan has included Alcantara as an accent material, as well as a leather complement. For those who are not familiar with Alcantara, the material has long been reserved for use in high-end European vehicles. Nissan is one of the first manufacturers to make it available for its vehicles.

Continuing the theme of style, comfort, and convenience, the Maxima comes equipped with an infotainment system that is strategically located and easily accessible via the Display Commander, which places the vehicle’s controls at the driver’s fingertips.

Intelligent Mobility Is Technology for the Future

Over the course of its history, the Nissan Maxima has undergone numerous redesigns, primarily focused on the physical appearance. Technology is the cornerstone of the 2018 redesign. At the heart of this latest concept is Nissan Intelligent Mobility, which revolutionizes the relationship between the automobile and tech industries, introducing a slate of features designed to keep drivers entertained and safe.

The scientific concept is creating a virtual communication link between the car’s internal network and the driver to effectively monitor the surrounding environment. In turn, necessary adjustments are able to be made to ensure a smooth driving experience for everyone. This concept is illustrated in the slate of features Nissan has made available in the latest Maxima.

Automatic Emergency Braking comes standard. The system monitors the distance between your car and the car in front of it. If the system detects you are getting too close to the car ahead of you, you will be alerted, letting you know necessary adjustments are needed. If the system determines you are not likely or may be unable to react to the situation in time, the brakes are automatically deployed.

In addition to the standard braking system, Nissan also makes other safety features available.

Intelligent Cruise Control is not like the standard cruise control we are all familiar with and use on a regular basis.  Standard cruise control allows you to set a “cruising” speed. In addition to setting your driving speed, Intelligent Cruise Control allows you to also set the “cruising” distance between you and the car ahead of you. Both the cruising speed and cruising distance are monitored and can be easily adjusted as needed, to consistently maintain both.

Parking Sonar is another available feature. Talk about a scientific breakthrough. When we think of sonar, we typically think about dolphins’ or bats’ innate ability or a submarine’s mechanical ability to locate objects. Well, the 2018 Nissan Maxima has that same ability. With the help of sensors placed on the four corners of the car, the vehicle can detect any stationary objects located within close proximity and will immediately alert you to them to assist you in properly parking within the parameters of a parking space.

The Intelligent Around View Monitor provides drivers with a 360-degree view of their surroundings, courtesy of cameras. This feature provides the driver the ability to zoom in on anything on any side of the car. The system also alerts the driver to any moving objects in the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.

We’ve only reviewed a handful of the many features and options the 2018 Nissan Maxima offers to prospective buyers. We didn’t discuss the Maxima’s front seats, which are modeled after the same zero-gravity travel our astronauts experience. We didn’t review the Active Noise Cancellation concept, courtesy of the standard Bose sound system and the acoustic laminated glass. The result is a reduction in noise emanating from the engine and other mechanical aspects of the car, as well as the sounds outside the vehicle, such as wind and traffic.

There’s so much to love about this car. If you’re ready to experience the 2018 Nissan Maxima, a test drive is as close as your local Nissan dealership. Call or visit the dealership to schedule your test drive today.
